It is time for the second issue of the new look Kerala Medical Journal. The first issue was officially released at the 58th Annual State Conference of Kerala State IMA at The Springs International School Nilambur on 10th November by the State President Dr A V Jayakrishnan by handing over copy to the immediate Past President Dr Sreejith N Kumar. The support received from the IMA state leadership for improving IMA KMJ is gratefully acknowledged. It is our endeavour to constantly improve IMA KMJ.
The State Conference also witnessed the presentation of IMA KMJ Awards for Excellence for articles published in 2014-15 to Dr Rakesh PS, Dr Sunny George, and Dr P Baburaj who received awards from the State President. Dr Sreekala and Dr Sam Thampan were unable to attend and will be presented awards later. We thank our authors for the opportunity to showcase their research through IMA KMJ.
The present issue features an editorial on the socio-economic rehabilitation of solid organ transplant recipients. The
issue has articles on immunisation status in children in a semi-urban population, new method for AFB isolation, improving clinical outcomes after liver transplantation, the current status of acute coronary care, and improving the human face of critical care. Case reports are about cold agglutinin disease, lymphangiectasis, carbon baby syndrome and retinal vessel occlusions in APS.
We have received many appreciative comments on the design, content and presentation of KMJ. We are eagerly waiting for more critical comments from our IMA members, authors and readers to constantly improve our journal. Please mail your comments email@example.com and help us know your feedback. We thank our editorial team and Studio Medica for the constant effort and support.
